Argentina to Host 'Fileteado for Palestine' Exhibition

The Centro Cultural y Político AwkaChe has announced the upcoming opening of the touring exhibition 'Fileteado por Palestina'. This initiative extends the dialogue between art and human rights, reaffirming that culture can and must be a way to take a stance against the world's injustices. On November 15th at 7:00 PM, the 'Fileteado por Palestina' exhibition will be inaugurated at the Museum of Art and Memory of the Provincial Commission for Memory (CPM) in La Plata. The collective exhibition brings together 25 fileteado artists in a gesture of commitment and international solidarity with the Palestinian people. Leveraging the symbolic power of Buenos Aires fileteado, a popular art declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the artworks transform the daily embellishments into a visual cry against genocide and occupation. The opening is part of 'La Noche de los Museos de La Plata', and from 7:00 PM to midnight, the event will feature activities that blend art, music, and cultural activism. The official opening will be followed by a tango performance, a fileteado workshop for Palestinian flags, and the accompaniment of the Mesa Gráfica por Palestina. The exhibition will be on display until January 15th and is free to enter. On November 27th, a seminar titled 'Palestina y lesa humanidad' will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, coordinated by the Colectivo de Abogades Populares La Ciega and the Colectivo de Abogadxs Populares (FCJyS). Each artwork offers a unique perspective on resistance and hope, where Argentine popular art becomes a vehicle for political denunciation and tenderness.
